High Selling Lot: Lot 10: Bar 15 Jet Black 1J, to J Anchor Simmental, Murray & Marilyn Jacobson, Shaugnessy, AB for $11,500. She is a purebred black Simmental female.

High Selling bull was Lot 90: Bar 15 Carmanah 169K, a red bestcross Simmental bull that sold to Donfield Farms, Keith & Margaret Donahoe, The Pas, MB for $10,000.

High selling red purebred female was Lot 55: TBSF Flanna 5F, to Twin Butte Simmentals, Tony & Lorraine Bruder, Twin Butte, AB for $9,000. Her bull calf was one of the high selling bulls at $6,500 to East Cardston Colony, at $6,500.

Second high selling bull was Lot 19: Bar 15 Gladiator 52L, to Six Seventeen Ranch, Grand Lundago, Sheho, SK for $7,000. He also bought the dam, Lot 19 for $7,000.

Volume buyer of the day was 15 year old Amanda Homans, Pincher Creek, AB. She bought 10 bred cows and an open heifer calf. Included in her purchase was one of the high selling red purebred cows: Lot 14: Ms Knight 27H, for $4,100. Amanda had done well with her heifer calf from 2000, winning Supreme Champion Female at her local 4-H show.

There were seven young buyers to take advantage of the youth discount. These young people are the cattlemen of tomorrow and are starting out with top genetics.
